"Paranormal Activity" continues

            In the original "Paranormal Activity," the unknown entity plays around with the lights in the upstairs of the couple's home Micah and Katie. The entity does not like to be videotaped and Micah made the mistake placing a video camera in their bedroom. From there on, the plot develops and we learn that the entity was brought to the couple's home by Katie who has always felt like something was watching her and whispering to her ever since she was a little girl.

            In "Paranormal Activity 2," Kristi is the protagonist and the sister of Katie. The entity, which is referred to as evil forces by Kristi is much more violent in its early stages compared to the first movie. Kristi, her husband and two children after coming home and seeing their home ransacked but nothing taken they decide to set up surveillance cameras. Then nothing turns out well after for the family because once again the evil force was being videotaped, the one thing it hates the most.

            The budget for the first film took $15,000 to make, the second, three million and the third has not been released but is said to be a little more than the second film. "Paranormal Activity 3" takes us back to Kristi and Katie's childhood in the year of 1988. The family has been unlucky from the beginning with the weird happenings always occurring around the girls. The big mystery the audience wants to know is why is this happening to this family? The audience wants to know the gritty details of the story behind the entity and its connection to the family.

            Everyone expected the third movie to explain a lot about the untold story behind the haunting, however not much was told why the entity chose that family.  

"I didn't really like this movie because they left out the important parts I wished they would at least mention them" Junior Sabreen Abdullah said. 

Also, the new insight we receive in part three is that the eldest girl Katie the entity troubled the most so her connection to the force is related in some way.

"The men in each film dies, so I believe that the men are connected somehow to the entity," Abdullah said.

In addition, the fire which is an important part to the girl's childhood was not in the third film but was mentioned in the first movie. Hopefully, in "Paranormal Activity 4" fans will be happier with a more developed plot and conclusion that will explain the series' questions that are not yet answered.
