BSA's Annual Fright Fest Trip
Sunday, October 30 dated BSA's annual Fright Fest Trip. Despite the snow storm from the previous day, Six Flags was open and ready for students from the University of Bridgeport. Aleruchi Wosu, Rodesha Luckett and Khalilah Dickerson, members of the E-Board of BSA stated that regardless of the storm, the trip was still going to happen. "This trip is a tradition, BSA has been having it for years," Rodesha Luckett said.
A relatively small group of students gathered at the Student Center at 9:15 am and departed from campus by 10 o'clock. Both UB students and outsiders were welcome. The group was familiar with each other, making the bus ride comfortable and entertaining.
Arriving at Six Flags by 1:30, the group was eager to hit the main attractions. The park was packed with people dressed in their Halloween costumes and employees were selling hot chocolate. Many of the lines for the attractions had an estimated wait time of 90 minutes, but this did not stop UB's students from riding.
All 21 of the students were informed by the E-board members that the group would meet up at 6:15 and leave the park by 6:30. Several students were upset because as the sun started to go down, Fright Fest began.
Although they were not able to participate in the actual Fright Fest part of the day, most of the students were satisfied by the rides and attractions that they were able to go on. "I got to ride on rollercoasters that you never rode before," sophomore Jerrod Richardson said.
Regardless of the time-consuming lines and not experiencing Fright Fest, the day was passable and many students are excited to visit Six Flags next Halloween season.
