5. Eve 6 – "Here's to the Nights"

"Here's to the nights we felt alive/Here's to the tears you knew you'd cry/Here's to goodbye, tomorrow's gonna come too soon."

Day before graduation as a trip down memory lane runs through your mind. You can't wait for grad day to come but at the same time you want to stay in limbo as much as you can. Eve 6's 2001 song "Here's to the nights" is all about that moment of reflection.

4. Jordin Sparks – "One Step at a Time"

"To take one step at a time/There's no need to rush/It's like learning to fly, or falling in love/It's gonna happen when it's supposed to happen/And we find the reasons why/One step at a time".

When things are rough or don't go your way, Sparks reminds that patience and endurance will help you get what you want to accomplish. This song is an ode to those who are ready to step into the adult world.

3. Green Day – "Good Riddance (Time of your Life)"

"It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right/I hope you had the time of your life".

With mellow lyrics sung against an acoustic guitar, Green Day's 1997 song, "Good Riddance (Time of your life) became a successful song in their career. Even though the song is actually about a break up, its sentimental appeal made it popular for graduations.

2. R. Kelly – "I Believe I Can Fly"

"I believe I can fly/I believe I can touch the sky/I think about it every night and day/spread my wings and fly away/I believe I can soar/I see me running through that open door/I believe I can fly I believe I can fly/I believe I can fly."

R. Kelly's 1996's, "I believe I can fly" is another popular graduation song. With inspirational lyrics, and a heartfelt ballad, this song was R. Kelly's best.

1. Vitamin C – "Graduation"

"As we go on/We remember/All the times we/Had together/And as our lives change/From whatever/We will still be/Friends Forever".

When talking about graduation, this song is the first thing that comes to everyone's mind. With the cheesy lyrics and the 90's styled bubble pop melody, almost every graduation ceremony plays this song.
