Welcome Back!

Hello everyone. My name is Eliana and I am
the new world news editor for The Scribe. I
started out last year by writing some articles for the former editor, Justin, who inspired me to pursue the position. I am not an English major and I am not going to hide the fact that my writing skills are not the best. However, as college students, the only way we can improve and learn more in life is by practicing what we are weak in and making it one of our stronger attributes. No one has to be majoring in creative writing or English to write an article just as long as you are dedicated to trying something new and educating other people. No one really has time to sit down and read the whole New York Times while they have a million other important things to do. With the world news section, the goal is to have people learn a little bit about what is going on in the world. Let’s face it, most people do not watch CNN or the news at night, so it would be good for students to get insight by reading a summary of world events. We need writers to talk about all regions: Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the Caribbean. If your major is I.P.E.D. or Political Science, it would be a great opportunity for you to learn what is going on in today’s world and to allow you to keep up
with all the different economic, social, and political problems of the world. I encourage people who want to be a part of the Scribe or want to write for a particular section to step forward. We hope that everyone will gain more knowledge and have their eyes opened to the world of today and our future of tomorrow.
