Bridgeport, Conn. — Senior Crystal Deichert had a game-high 19 points to lead UB past Concordia, 68-60, on Saturday afternoon. The win keeps UB unbeaten at 6-0 overall and now a perfect 3-0 atop the NYCAC. With one more victory, this year’s team will equal the total number of wins from the last three years combined for the UB program.
Deichert was joined in double figures by junior Megan Jones (14 points), senior Krista Ross (13 points) and Aliyah Miles (10 points). The game was the first game back for Ross after missing the last four with an ankle injury. As a team, UB shot 44.1 percent from the field and limited Concordia to a 37 percent shooting clip.
After holding a 37-28 lead at the break, UB gave it back and Concordia climbed to within two points with under six minutes remaining. The Purple Knights called a timeout though and ran off a 7-0 run to put the game back out of reach.
Four Clippers were in double figures, led by Monique Mighty with 17 points. Tiffany Daley, Pam Karagiorgos and Siann Jacob each added 11 points.
