THE INTRAMURAL SOCCER TOURNAMENT IS OVER!!

After two weeks of marvelous exchange of talent and skill, the intramural soccer tournament finally came to an end. Six teams participated in this tournament, which included the Korean and African team. In the end of it all, the African boys emerged victorious with an outstanding performance of 4-0, scoring 23 goals and containing only 4. The highest goal scorer of the tournament was Amisu Yaya aka ‘Ola’ who scored 11 goals and had a couple of assists. When asked about his excellent performance he said, “Thanks to my teammates who trusted me and played collectively, I was able to find the net numerous times. I hope we carry this spirit to the upcoming UB World Cup”. The MVP of the tournament was Malvern Ngoh, whose defensive skills, magnificent assists and critical ball control was always a nightmare to the opposing side. “With Malvern on the African defense, I had no chance to score against them. I was completely helpless and he efficiently stopped all my moves. He is such a great player,” commented a Korean attacker. When interviewed by The Scribe, Malvern said, “In Africa, soccer isn’t just a sport but a way of life. Due to my teammates who understood each other, we had no doubt of winning the trophy. Trust me, you guys haven’t seen anything yet. I can’t wait for the World Cup Tournament.”
