Men’s Soccer

After one of the best seasons in Knights soccer history, the Purple Knights (2-2-2) are looking forward to another strong season. Led by team captains Ian Welsch from New York, and Joshua Kirk from Miami, the Knights feel that they are just as strong, if not stronger than last year. Sophomore Dave Luna captures the sentiment of the rest of his team, “We WILL make it to the NCAA tournament!” The Knights are fortunate to have on their team two of the most prominent goal scorers in the league. Lee Sharkey and Cheikh Diop are both tied, leading the team at three goals apiece. The Knights’ next match up is a non-conference match against Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. “We could really use the momentum of a couple wins going into our first league game,” Lee Sandoval says looking towards this up coming week. The first league game this season is this upcoming Saturday, October 4 in Sparkill, NY versus St. Thomas Aquinas College, a capable team that should be defeated fairly easily.
