UB Knights Fight ON!

On October 18, The University of Bridgeport went head to head with NYCAC foe and bitter rival, Dowling College and the outcome was exactly as expected. The game turned out to be a hardcore grudge match, with Bridgeport looking to avenge last year’s 2-l loss. It was apparent that there was no love loss between the teams; Dowling will once again have the last laugh. In the first half, both teams showed great prowess on the defensive side of the ball, but both Dowling and Bridgeport were having trouble finding the back of the net. In addition to great defense came some clutch saves by UB goalie Chris Clarke. Yet in the heat of disputable calls, aggressive plays, and intense action, Dowling scored the first goal early in the second half by way of senior defenseman, Jan Eric Wetteland. This shot allowed Dowling to take what looked to be the lead for the rest of the game. Although the Knights made a valiant effort, Dowling followed up with two more goals later in the half by Christoffer Zachrison and Chris Corridon, which sealed the game. Bridgeport drops to 6-9-0 overall and 2-4-0 in NYCAC play.
The Knights will try to avenge their loss as they will meet Concordia College, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm in what looks to be another epic battle between NYCAC conference teams.
