UB rallied late in the game to pull within four points after trailing by double digits, but were unable to overcome 15 missed free throws in an 82-77 loss to NYIT. The Purple Knights shot 47.4 percent from the field in the second half, including four three-pointers, to close the lead but were unable to get closer than four. Junior guard Mark Price led UB with 26 points, including 4-of-8 from three-point land. Senior Ramel Allen finished with 11 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks. They were joined in double figures by Terence Wilkins and Kevin Jeffreys with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Patrick Tunstead led NYIT with a game-high 28 points, while Michael Smith posted a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double. Avery Oliver also finished with 10 points.
