On Monday November 21st, the University of Bridgeport inducted students into the newly-formed Alpha Gamma Pi Political Science Honor Society. The event commemorated the realization of a program implemented to recognize and honor students and faculty who have showcased exemplary work in the field of political science.
The event began with a brief welcoming speech by one of Alpha Gamma Pi’s prestigious inductees and faculty advisor, Professor Zhiqun Zhu. Following the opening remarks, Dr. Ward, Dean of the International College, introduced each inductee before presenting the student with a certificate of achievement.Also present to observe the induction was fellow National Political Science Honors Society member and professor of political science at Fairfield University, Dr. John Orman. Following the induction ceremony, Dr. Orman gave a lecture on celebrity politics in the United States and the influence stardom has on the political system.
