As the semester comes to a close, it’s amazing to think how fast this year has gone by. As fashion evolves, so do we, but its up to us to determine where we want life to take us and how we will take advantage of the opportunities given to us. Our graduating trendsetter this week will be using all of the opportunities that he has gained while being at the University of Bridgeport when he returns to Japan.
Name: Yasutaka Mochizuki

Where are your favorite places to shop?
Harajuku or Shibuya in Japan, I usually go to those two, but also Trumbull mall.
Do you have a favorite fashion designer?
I don’t have any specific designer, I usually go shopping by what I like to wear, and that’s what I buy.
What made you decide to study Fashion Merchandising?
I love fashion. It’s interesting because it changes season by season and year by year. Everyone has their individual style so that interests me.
Do you have a favorite piece in your closet to wear?
Yes, the shoes I’m wearing today.
What would be your dream job after graduation?
Actually I’m looking for it now, but I want to be a buyer or a visual merchandiser, and I do plan to move back to Japan.
What will you miss most about UB?
I’ll miss my teachers Tracy, Professor Albert, and Cynde. Honestly I will.
