On Monday, September 10, 2007, movie magic came to the Pedestrian Mall here at UB. Disney’s, “College Road Trip,” starring Martin Lawrence and Raven Simone, filmed several scenes in front of Carlson Hall. Due to the filming, students were redirected through Mandeville Hall in order to avoid interrupting filming.
The filming on campus caused students to flood towards Mandeville Hall in an attempt to watch some of the filming. The filming lasted approximately two hours.
This wasn’t the first time “College Road Trip” came to UB. “College Road Trip” was filmed during the summer break.
“College Road Trip” is about a girl (Simone) and her father (Lawrence) looking at colleges around the world. The film is due out March 7, 2008.
According to IMDB.com, there are currently seven different movies being made in the Greater-Bridgeport area. Leonardo DeCaprio spent several weeks filming in Seeley Hall in his upcoming movie, “Revolutionary Road.” Some other movies being made in this area are: “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” starring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, “What Just Happend,” starring Bruce Willis, “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2,” Righteous Kill,” starring Al Pacino, “Made for Each Other,” and “Marker,” starring Steven Segal
