Dissapointing Loss for Women’s BasketBall

The women’s basketball team left campus on Thursday to travel to Bentley, MA for the season opener. The game turned out to be something the team was not expecting. The Bentley Falcons opened hard and soon the Knights were down by double digits. While
the Falcons played well and made hoops the Knights struggled on the floor. After twelve minutes the Knights were down by fifteen points. Only a few minutes into the second half Angelina Jimenez (Santa Domingo, D.R.) got her fourth foul and had to be taken off the court. Soon after followed Tereza Arnetova (Prauge, Czech
Republic) and the Knights were lacking important inches in the paint. But after too long the Knights seemed to wake up and decided to play, unfortunately this came a bit too late. The gap was too
great and the closest the Knights ever got to the Falcons was when Stephanie Darden ( Boston, MA) hit a shot and brought it down to eleven points, but the UB Knights never came any closer. When the buzzer went off the final score was 66-53, a seventeen-pointloss for the Lady Knights.

Stephanie Darden led the team with eleven points, followed by Monique Ross (Sydney, Australia) with ten points.

Next up for the Lady Knights is the home opener at the Hubbell Gym against St. Anslem at 6 P. M.
