The Academic Resource Center would like to welcome all new students to UB and say hello again to those returning. The ARC, too, is back for another year of helping you help yourself. We’re your first (and possibly only stop) when you’re shopping for academic tutoring needs. Need help with your draft for English 101? Trouble with math? Accounting got you down? Look no further than Dana Hall 247.
We have the usual menu of helpful personnel. Learning Specialists and English professors Amy Nawrocki and Charles “Mr. C” Campbell are ready to help with any aspect of essay writing, from brainstorming to revision. Peer tutors, some returning and some new, are ready to share their expertise in math, accounting, biology and of course, writing. This year we are even adding a First Year Seminar specialist. We’ll also help you brush up with study skills, prepare with test-taking strategies, and organize your notes. Our book bin has desk copies of a few textbooks that you are free to make use of in the quiet comfort of the tutoring center. Whatever your academic needs, we’ve got you covered. Come and see how we can help you excel.
While we make an effort to schedule everyone who needs help, we can’t do it all. That’s why we offer online tutoring with eTutoring.org. Log on to the website or stop by the ARC for instructions to set up an account (FREE) and get started. Tutors are available for Writing, Math, Accounting, and Science. It’s easy and convenient, and did we mention free?
Call to make an appointment or stop by to say hello (x 4290). Located conveniently on the second floor of Charles Dana Hall (246-248), we’re open 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. We look forward to seeing you.
