The University of Bridgeport’s Kevin Jeffreys (Bridgeport, CT) was named to the 2006 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Men’s Basketball All-Star second team, as voted on by ECAC coaches Wednesday.
In addition to being named an ECAC All-Star, Jeffreys earned first team All-NYCAC and NYCAC All-Tournament Team honors this season. He led the Purple Knights both in scoring and steals averaging 18.1 ppg and 2.2 steals per game. Earlier this season Kevin became the 27th player in the University of Bridgeport’s men’s basketball program history to score 1,000 career points, when he connected on a mid-range jump shot in Bridgeport’s 85-72 victory against STAC, in Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium.
In his final season at Bridgeport, Jeffrey’s concludes his college career ranked 17th in UB’s all-time scoring list with 1,126 points. He joins Lambert Shell (’88-92) as the only two players to accomplish this milestone in two seasons. He is the only Purple Knight to every score over 100 three-point baskets in two seasons.
Jeffreys will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services.
