The Global Commission on International Migration, a UN sanctioned NGO revealed data on migration and its relationship to globalization. Their recommendations urge national governments to protect the rights of migrants and enhance their benefit to the global market. According to the report there are about 200 million migrants in the world with 20 percent of these residing in the US. “Developed countries would suffer huge shock if the undocumented people stopped working,” said Mary Robinson, former president of Ireland and former UN High commissioner on Human Rights.
