UB men’s basketball head coach Mike Ruane has been selected as the Sports Person of the Year for the City of Bridgeport by the Coastal Fairfield County Sports Commission. Entering his sixth season as head coach of the Purple Knights, Ruane has guided the program to three-straight 20-win seasons, a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and an ECAC Division II Championship.
