The Business School Club welcomes all business students and not only encourages business students, but students from other fields and majors to join our club . The second CEO night will take place on October 20th, and will feature Jim Nantz, CBS Sports Host of “Getting Ahead of the Herd: The Game of Sports Broadcasting in the Television Industry” fame. Both the CEO Nights will take place in the Littlefield Theater at the Arnold Bernhard Center (located at Iranistan and University Ave.) and reception will begin at 5:30; with the speech commencing at 6:00pm. Visit the ‘News and Events’ section under the ‘School of Business’ on the UB webpage for more biographical information of both the above CEOs.The club will also organize other hands-on learning activities, including fundraiser projects and events, as well as, social events, as selected and voted for by members of the club. Furthermore, an entrepreneurial project initiated by Ivan Florence (co-president of the Business School Club) is also in the pipeline that will allow us to register ourselves as a business entity. What type of business would you like to set up or start? Why don’t you come forward and share your business concepts and ideas, if you have any, or simply share your knowledge, experience and motivation in the establishment of an entrepreneurial project?A business journal will also be published by the Business School club this year under the management of Samiur Rehman (Samy), co-president of the business school club. The first of its kind in the CT region! We believe that the UB Business Journal will help foster many positive and intellectual business-related interactions between both domestic and international students that will allow students from both categories to gain a deeper insight as to how businesses operate domestically and in foreign markets and that will also allow students to contact “the finest minds from students around the world.” All business students are encouraged to share their business knowledge or experiences and to also write about business practices in their hometown or back home and share such invaluable information with other students enrolled in the School of Business. Students can also write about any aspect of business as they desire and articles on economics and politics can also be submitted. For more information send an email to Samy: stalukde@bridgeport.edu or visit the SGA meeting on Sept. 21st at 9:00pm for an online presentation of the UB Business Journal in Carlson Hall, Room 252. Have an opportunity to ask more questions about the journal, and also interact with students working closely on this project, in different capacities and aspects of the publication; students from the School of Business, International College,School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering. The Business School Club hopes to bring the club at a new level this year and need the help of fellow classmates, as well as, other students from different colleges. We invite you to give us newer and brighter ideas, and indulge on this wonderful opportunity to gain the experience needed to launch off into the real world of business.
