Fashion: Party

On Friday March 18, the fashion merchandising club hosted its first and annual “Mardi Gras party”. The club members consist of president Alicia Bixler, vice president Caden Rookwood, treasurer Brittany Couty, secretary Kelly Knewman, Samantha Peters, Roger Hercules, Danielle Van Dunk, and myself to name a few. All the time and effort that was put in made this event successful. The party began at 9pm and was scheduled to end at 1am. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the party ended early. Among the attendees were students from Fairfield, Uconn, Housatonic, Norwalk, Sacred Heart, and UNH. Over 300 party goers filled the social room while at least 40 other “fashionably late” people anxiously waited to pay and enter the party. Most were well dressed and ready to party. It was at most a 5 minute process before you could enter the party due to the newly implemented “party rules” this year. One person said “they need to reconsider the party procedures because the process takes entirely too long, it’s chaotic at the door”. Needless to say, the majority of the crowd enjoyed themselves. The fashion merchandising club apologizes for any inconvenience that was caused due to a disturbing event that required the party be ended early. “I’m so upset at the whole situation because a lot of hard work went into this party” -Caden Rookwood. There’s always one that spoils it for the rest of the bunch. Unfortunately, few of our own UB students had an uneasy reaction, but treated accordingly. It’s safe to say that no one was considerably harmed. “As soon as the party started getting good, some inconciderate people had to go and mess everything up”-Karlene Aris. I want to take this time to thank Edina for helping to make this possible and Pepsi for sponsoring this event. We look forward to doing this and other events next year.
