The University of Bridgeport honored 17 of its faculty and staff who together devoted 375 years of service to UB students and the community it serves.President Neil Albert Salonen presented awards to the 17 who were joined by family members and friends and associates on campus in ceremonies held at the president’s home on campus, Waldemere.
Those scheduled to receive awards were:
35 years: Professors Michael Autouri of Ridgefield, biology, School of Arts and Sciences, and T. Mathai Thomas of Suffren, N.Y., sociology, education, School of Education and Human Resources;
30 years: Marge Zboray of Stratford, Marina Dining Hall, and Bessie Phakias of Fairfield, financial aid office;
25 years: Lloyd G. Afflick of Bridgeport, buildings and grounds; Ellen M. Angeski of Stratford, College of Chiropractic; Marilyn Atkinson of Shelton, Marina Dining Room; Professor Glenn A. Bassett of Guilford, School of Business; Dixie J. Eaton of Bridgeport, bursar’s office; Patricia A. Shuster, R.N., of Shelton, health center, and Professor
Jinnque Rho of Orange, biology, School of Arts and Sciences.
20 years: Rose M. Caputo of Stratford, admissions;
10 years: Henry Brown, Jesse Caldwell, Ralph Gonzalez and Lt. Richard Loehn, all of Bridgeport, security department, and Professor Natalia Romalis-Reyblatt of Bridgeport, mathematics, School of Arts and Sciences.
