It has come to my attention that many students are engaging in false advertising. Now correct me if I’m wrong but, very rarely do I see college students who can afford a dashing wardrobe on a college budget. The reality is that very few of us can. As for the rest off you who are participating in phony activities, or purchasing knockoff items and trying to pass it off as the real thing, please…knock-it off! Let’s take for example the percentage of students who are always talking on their cell phones? They are so caught up in their “airtime minutes” that sometimes they forget that the bill hasn’t been paid for the month…which results in continuous lip movement, but no real conversation. We understand that in some cases, it is you who pays the phone bill so you have every right to be on it, however don’t pretend that you’re phone has never been cut off.
To my readers, I encourage you the next time you’re in marina, check out the number of students who enter with a cell phone to their ear…I’ll leave it up to you to decide if someone’s really on the other line. Cell phones are a privilege that shouldn’t be abused so…Knock-it-off! Contacts are a perfect way to enhance the eyes and play up your facial features. However, you can’t possibly be “dark chocolate” complexion and expect people to believe that you naturally have hazel eyes…Knock-it-off!
Don’t tell everyone that you’re rocking an official jersey when clearly the letters are peeling on your Lebron James’ jersey and furthermore, his number is “23” not “28 so… Knock-it off!
If your Louis Vuitton handbag says “made in Taiwan” on the label, you should be concerned. All Louis Vuitton bags have the official LV logo on the label, so do yourself a favor and… Knock-it-off!
They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but how can one “spot the not”? Well, the next time you’re sitting in class and it just so happens to be a sunny day outside, and there’s a sudden glare of rainbow colors coming from across the room where the young lady (who proclaims that her boyfriend purchased her some diamond studs) is sitting, remember that diamonds don’t give off rainbow colors. It would be better off if you said that they were cubic zirconias so please…knock-it-off!
There’s nothing wrong with “knock off items” don’t get me wrong. The problem starts when we really start to believe that we have the real thing, especially when it’s so obvious that it’s a fake.
