We’ve Lost Our Voice: SGA

Tired of the same boring campus? Make a difference and join Student Government. It is easy to sit and complain about things but it takes courage to get up and actually do something. The best way to voice concerns about campus activities or see a change is to participate: vote on ways to improve our campus life. Currently there seems to be no interest in the Student Government Association (SGA), which means that there is no interest in student issues. The point of student government is to establish a ‘voice’ of the students. When you are sitting in the line at the Bursar or Financial Aid and you become upset because it’s taking too long for your money to come in or you become frustrated that there aren’t enough groups and events on campus stop and ask yourself: “what am I doing besides complaining to my friends about these situations?”
As of this moment, it is a task just to fill spots in the Student Government, so who will represent you? Think about it, do you want someone who has a full scholarship and goes home every weekend and could care less if you’re bored because they have a significant other to spend time with representing you; a student who can barely afford to go to this school has no other choice but to go to Marina or Knights End everyday and is still waiting on packages from the mail room and have seven dollars to their until payday. Let’s be serious don’t complain about things you aren’t willing to fight to change.
