Speaker: Adnan Durrani, Partner of Blue Chip Venture Company

Mr. Durrani is a Venture Partner of Blue Chip Venture Co, with $700 million in managed funds, and currently heads up Blue Chip’s Stamford, CT office. Mr. Durrani is also President of Condor Ventures, Inc-a venture firm devoted to strategic investing in natural food and technology companies. He has been an investment professional for 23 years. In the mid-1980s, Mr.Durrani was a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers and a Senior Vice President of Oppenheimer & Co. In addition to his career in the financial arena, Mr. Durrani is a serial entrepreneur. He was the founder of Vermont Pure Holdings, which he led to an IPO (Amex, VPS), the parent company of Crystal Rock Water Co, and which now is the number two ranked bottled water company in northeast with over $75 Million in sales. He was also a founding partner of Stonyfield Farms, Inc, a leading natural & organic yogurt brand with over $150 Million in sales.

Mr. Durrani is a Director of Fire Fighter Brands, BKFK (By Kids For Kids), High Speed Video, Everest Corporation, OPEN (Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America of NY) and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. He has lectured at Columbia Business School and Fordham and has been a frequent lecturer at various conferences. Most recently, Mr.Durrani has been nominated to the Board of the Calvert Fund-a $10 Billion mutual fund which invests in stocks of socially responsible public companies.

Mr. Durrani received an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and economics from Columbia University as well as attending the Columbia Graduate School of Business Administration.

This event is the first one of Walter Levine Lecture Series of Leadership and Lifelong Learning, sponsored by the Business School Club. A reception in the hallway in front of Chiro 100 will start at 5:45pm, with refreshments served.
