Fall is here and class is in session! So let’s grab those textbooks and head to “fashion 101”. This semester is all about the collegiate look. It’s about fun and color. The number one rule to remember about your look is that there are no rules, only guidelines. This semester “dare to be different”. No one can do you better than you do. It’s hard to maintain our look as college students but, it can be done. Lesson #1: Never walk into class late unless you’re fashionably late. Ladies, a must have in your wardrobe this fall are short, cropped (waist length) jackets that range from jean to corduroy to tweed. Texture is in, so you decide. They’ll go great with a pair of cropped pants. If you don’t own a pair, now is the time to get one. As for color, plums, teal, and oh yes even….green! Pleated skirts, blazers and even pumps look great in green this fall. There’s a shade out there that’s right for you and when you walk into that classroom or even marina, other’s will be “green” with envy. When you’re all dress in your nice clothes, cute heels, and your hair is done or in a head wrap, accessorize! Grab your favorite bag (not the drawstring Nike), throw on your favorite belt and head out, But please take the “flip” off the “hip”…it just doesn’t go with that outfit. Besides it looks better with a pair of jeans.
While the ladies have a choice of bottoms to choose from, the guys are left only to decide between sweats or jeans? Don’t worry; it’s not your fault fellas. Sweats are great for a day at the gym, or when you just don’t care and want to be comfortable and casual. But sweats won’t always cut it. Dress up a pair of you favorite jean this fall by trying this on for size. Ladies, what takes up the most space in your dorm room closet? Shoes or handbags… right. Fellas, what takes up the most space in your dorm room closet? A section devoted entirely to black and white tees. Enhance it with a nice pressed button down, long- sleeved shirt in plaid or better yet stripes. It’s all about layers fellas, and button downs. When in doubt, you can’t go wrong with a pull over shirt or hoody.
