UB saved the best for last as the Purple Knights rolled past Teikyo Post by a convincing 3-0 margin to claim the 2004 Purple Knight Invitational Championship. Leading the team was Jessica Herrman (Salina, KS) with 16 kills and 13 digs. Setter Sinead Quirk (Wheaton, IL) had 37 assists and nine digs to go along with two block assists. Tadj Williams had six kills for Teikyo Post, Jennifer Giarratano had five kills and 10 digs and Courtney McGinnis had six aces and 11 assists. UB is now 4-0 and TPU is 3-2 on the season. UB lost in the championship match a year ago by a final of 3-2 to Southern New Hampshire after falling behind by a 2-0 margin. Game scores were 30-20, 30-21 and 30-17.
