Welcome to all our students. Student Health Services is located at 60 Lafayette Street, Warner Hall Room 116 and is open from 8:30am To 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. When Health Services is closed, on weekends, holidays and extended vacation period residence hall students should report health emergency or illness to the on-duty staff in charge of his/her residential hall or call Campus Security at 576-4911. Non-resident students are to go to their local emergency room or call their own physician. Please be aware that by Connecticut Law all students born after December 30,1956 must submit proof of immunization for Measles and Rubella. Health Services has the Measles and Rubella vaccine at this time and will be happy to administer it to students who need it. There is a $15.00 fee for the administration of the vaccine. By Connecticut State Law Meningitis immunization is also mandatory for all students who reside in on-campus housing as of Fall 2002. You can be vaccinated by your own physician or at Student Health Services located at 60 Lafayette Street, Warner Hall Room 116. The fee for the Meningitis immunization is $65.00 paid in cash or personal checks made payable to “The University of Bridgeport.” Any student who does not provide immunization proof for Measles, Rubella and Meningitis will not be allowed register for the classes and to reside in on-campus housing. Student Health Services staff would like to thank all the students for their efforts to comply with the Connecticut State Law regarding Measles, Rubella and Meningitis immunizations.
University Of Bridgeport Health insurance policy is mandatory for all full time international and domestic students. The yearly fee for the UB health insurance is $450.00. Domestic students may elect to waive this coverage by providing a comparable health insurance plan and a valid insurance card to Bailey agencies. Replacement coverage must meet Connecticut’s minimum standards for basic medical/surgical insurance. Applications for the waivers will be accepted within 30 days from the start of the classes. The school’s insurance company will mail all insurance cards to the students. Please note that an accident insurance fee is charged to all full-time students and may not be waived.
A variety of services are available at Health Services which include immediate care of illness, injuries, immunizations, allergy injections, sport physicals, gynecological examinations, pap tests, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy testing and birth control. All services are strictly confidential and your privacy is assured.
