Rickflections

Now I know that everyone wants an education and an education costs money. However, does it need to cost twenty-five grand? Everyone tells us how important an education is. Well, if it is so important then school officials need to stop driving students out of universities due to the increase of tuition. Students that come from a low income family, like myself, cannot afford to keep coming back to the University of Bridgeport. Don’t try to tell me that it costs that much, cause it doesn’t. I went to jail for a few years and I was still educated at the college level. It didn’t cost near the amount that the University of Bridgeport costs. I’m not saying we shouldn’t pay for our education but I implore you to get real, people. There should be some more help of some kind to better aid the students who need it.

If I were to give anyone a suggestion as to why they should come to this school it would be for the professors and how they teach. As for everything else here, I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to come. Reasons why? Firstly, the cost; secondly, the pathetic living quarters, I mean the janitorial crew does their job well, but the dorms look like cell blocks. The package store conveniently located is a plus, but if you want to eat you have to drive across town to get a steak and cheese from Krauszer’s. If you want to go to a club you have to drive a half hour just to get there. All these things need to be closer to the University for the University to have a higher rating on the “Rick Scale.”

As for underage students drinking, get over it. They aren’t going to listen. That’s like telling a baby to talk. I understand that this is a private university, but some staff saying that they can do whatever they want with punishment, get real cause I’m not buying it. You may have a say, but all you are doing is pissing off students, and that makes us do our own thing. (Granted we do our own thing anyway, but I’m just saying.) We come here to enjoy our college experiences and get an education, but it is hard to do any of that with tuition going up and staff breathing down our necks. I am sure if the school will give a little to us, we could find it in our hearts to give a little bit of cooperation in return. The students here are just looking for a little effort that this school is finally being renovated. I personally am cautious of forking out more money to the school when I still live in a room that looks like a holding cell. As for me, I am going to do my thing regardless of what anyone says.

Now for adding charges when a student gets in trouble when they didn’t do that crime, get over it, you are not a prosecutor and this is not a courthouse. So the R.A.’s that find people who aren’t following the rules make sure you get them for the right crime don’t try to be a hero and ruin their college stay here.
