There has been some concern whether the reoccurring event known to everyone as the Date Auction was indeed going to take place this semester. After all the previous turmoil with the Freshman Class attempting to host the event, it would have been a poor outcome of this dispute, with having one of the most popular events not taking place at all.Well people rest assured, the Date Auction is on schedule for April 12 from 8pm to 12 am. RHA President, Denise Yearwood, hopes that the event will be as successful as it has in the past. The Date Auction is known for having a great turnout, providing a relaxed atmosphere where the people attending have an excellent time. Denise Yearwood also said that this will give people a chance to take their mind off these trying times that we currently are enduring.
RHA has hosted this event for the past three years and prior to that it was hosted by the SCUBA Club for several years. The money raised at the event is evenly distributed throughout the dorms, providing new furniture, TVs for the lounges and so on. Since it is beneficial for the students here at UB it has become an event that most people look forward to and like to participate in. So, be sure to put your name in for being auctioned away and when April 12 rolls around, RHA hopes to see you there strutting your stuff!
