UB Trendsetter of the Week

As a woman, we have become so used to guys dressing the same, with the constant baggy pants, oversized t-shirts and latest pairs of sneakers, that when one guy does not dress similar we want to know why. Are they a fashion major? Do they purposely not want to dress like everyone else? We questioned where their style came about and why they dress specifically different from a majority of guys. Our trendsetter this week, specifically stands out amongst the crowd with his outfit choices, by creating his distinctive style of male options.

What is your inspiration when shopping for new clothes?

I try to find clothing that is specifically different and out of the ordinary. It might not necessarily go together to the public eye, but I try to mix and match textures and patterns that I find interesting.

Do you go for the latest trends or try to create your own?

I never try to go for the latest trends, but focus more on creating my own. To me, certain colors look good together, but not to others. It is just a way of making outfits more personal for myself.

What is one piece of clothing that you feel you cannot go without wearing everyday?

Well, it isn't a piece of clothing, but a certain accessory that I fell in love with. Once I saw Maxwell sporting the ring, I had to get it. It is a three-finger ring that is metal. I have to either wear that everyday or the other gold one similar to it. It is just something I cannot go without.

Does the trends of fellow UB students influence your type of dressing at all?

The trends of the fellow UB students do not have any type of effect on my type of style, except the people that come from New York City. Their style is usually different than what I am used to back at home, so I begin to feed off some of their styles, but not everything. I pick and choose the things that I like about New York style of dressing.

What is your favorite place to shop?

My favorite place to shop is Forever 21-Men, because it offers reasonable priced clothing and provide plenty of the vintage materials, that other stores lacks at.

What is a basic outfit that you can wear as an everyday outfit?

An everyday outfit for me would be a jean button up, matched with a gray hoodie, harem pants, and green polka dot Doc Martin boots. By wearing this, I feel my most casual.
